CAPTOS - The Networked RFID Lock
The new CAPTOS RFID lock was presented to the public for the first time at the Interzum 2021 furniture hardware show by LEHMANN. The networked RFID lock requires no batteries and is the ideal choice for lockers in public buildings or sports and leisure facilities. As a network lock with remote realtime control via centralized management software, Captos offers great features and benefits for operators and users.
Easy and intuitive to operate, Captos also permits contact-free locking and unlocking by RFID transponders such as ID cards, keycards, key fobs or wristbands. The lock currently supports “MIFARE” and “LEGIC” technologies based on 13,56 MHz., the system also supports "MIFARE" and "LEGIC" technologies based on 13,56 MHz. If you want to use Captos with existing staff RFID cards, LEHMANN offer a free-of-charge compatibility test to ensure problem-free function.
Captos can be operated in "shared use" or "assigned use" mode. An LED display provides feedback to the user, which is particularly in "shared use" mode, as users can instantly see from a distance whether lockers are in use or available. The visual indicator is also accompanied by an acoustic signal, which can be muted for use in quiet zones.
A premium version is also available: CAPTOS iCharge offers an easily accessible USB port for charging smartphones or tablets. In addition, RGB backlighting on the lock can be activated to illuminate the locker interior and as a design effect via the LEHMANN management software LMS. The color of the backlight can be set individually for each lock. As soon as the user opens the locker door, the backlight switches on.
The compact "Captos" locks can be mounted on all materials commonly used for storage production, such as wood, HPL and steel (with an additional cover).
Captos is powered via cable by electricity, which reduces operating and maintenance costs, such as battery replacement. The power supply is ensured via primary or secondary controllers. Up to 24 CAPTOS or CAPTOS iCharge locks can be connected to one controller.
The locks are configured either via master and programming cards or by LEHMANN Management Software LMS. In both cases, facility managers benefit from configuration commonality throughout the entire LEHMANN RFID range. If CAPTOS locks are configured with the LMS (license key "LMS-Online"), configuration and access right changes can be made from a central point anywhere in the world and in realtime. Facility managers no longer need to be present in every location, multiple facilities can be managed from one central point. Other great features are remote opening of lockers (for example to support legitimate users who have misplaced their card) and the logfile of events at the lock – all managed through LMS. For configuration via LMS, the primary controllers act as "handover points" in the customer network (LAN) in which the LMS is installed.
The CAPTOS will be available in early 2022. Please contact us now for further information and to see how Captos can benefit your upcoming project!
CAPTURA 100
The RFID lock CAPTURA is the latest and smallest lock in the broad LEHMANN portfolio of electronic locks. This compact lock, which supports the widely used MIFARE® Classic, MIFARE® DESFire®, LEGIC prime, LEGIC advant and HID iClass technology, is the ideal solution for lockers, office furniture, hotel furnishing, educational institutions and much more. Regardless of cabinet type, CAPTURA is easy to install thanks to it’s symmetrical design and locking pins which automatically compensate for installation tolerances. A very important advantage is the installation card, which can be used to operate the lock as well as all other Lehmann RFID systems throughout the entire logistics chain, for example to check basic functions.
CAPTURA has an integrated RFID antenna, which eliminates the need to install a separate RFID reader. For wooden and HPL doors, the lock allows the implementation of flat fronts. An external component is only necessary on metallic surfaces. Like all Lehmann RFID systems, the CAPTURA also has a two-stage battery warning, which ensures the smooth use of the lock, which is completely invisible from the cabinet exterior. The acoustic warning – and an optical warning with the optional lightpoint – is given at regular intervals and before each closing process. In the second stage of the battery warning, the lock that is operated with a CR123A battery can then no longer be locked – the battery must be replaced for further use.
The added value of the new RFID solution includes the optional ejector pin, which is attached to the locking pin. This ensures convenience for the user, because when the lock is opened with an authorized transponder, the door is pushed open slightly thanks to the ejector mechanism. This means that when entering a changing area e.g. in fitness studios with lockers in shared use mode, the open doors show at a glance which lockers are available.
In addition to acoustic signals, the optional lightpoint offers extra convenience by transmitting optical signals. It is inserted in the center behind the lock via a tiny hole in the door. The cover for mounting on metal surfaces is also equipped with a lightpoint.
Like for all LEHMANN RFID systems, CAPTURA is activated and configured either with the Lehmann master card and the programming cards or with the Lehmann Management Software LMS. The Lehmann Management Software LMS offers an efficient solution for the management of transponders and RFID locks. Based on a simple matrix and list format, authorizations can be assigned quickly and RFID systems can be configured easily.
